Why do poker dealers sit and blackjack dealers stand?

    It probably has to do with the fact that Blackjack is a casino floor game and poker is a room game. They evolved separately.

    It's largely because the players sit in poker and sort-of stand in blackjack. Blackjack is designed for people to casually walk up to the table, whereas poker players are seated and stay for a while.
