threebet

I just want to make sure I am understanding this term. I seem to be misreading it.
A player bets, someone raises, and the next raise is the threebet.
Is that right?

    Yeah I think you got it. I like it better in reference to limit. But I have been coming across it more and more in reference to no-limit, too.

    Three-bet, not threebet. And yes, it means exactly that-- to put in the third bet.

    "When the flop came I bet out, the guy in seat two called, and when it got back to me I three-bet him."
